The experience

Good light, natural direction and a plan you can relax into.

A bright hotel extension, a shaded garden and a candlelit reception ask different things of a photographer. We plan for those changes before the wedding, so you are not left waiting while the next location is worked out. During portraits, we give you something simple to do; during the ceremony and conversations, we watch for the moments that happen without direction.

Our Edgbaston coverage is planned from the booked rooms and addresses, whether the day stays at one hotel or brings together a home, ceremony venue and reception. We are based in Wednesbury and travel to the celebration; this is a service-area page, not a separate Edgbaston studio.

Before the cameras come out

Agree the coverage. Then enjoy the day.

Talk through what matters

Bring your date, venue bookings and a few priorities. We will discuss the people and events you want covered, including anything you would prefer to keep private.

Put the practical details in writing

Your proposal should explain the hours, team and services you are booking. Confirm travel, deliverables, the delivery schedule and the terms before deciding.

Feel comfortable in the photographs

You do not need a collection of practised poses. We give clear direction for portraits and family groups, then leave space for the celebration to happen.

Local venue planning

Wedding photography in Edgbaston: venues and practical details

The rooms you have reserved, your ceremony arrangements and the reception timings shape the photography. Use these local starting points to discuss access with your venue coordinator.

Hornton Grange, Edgbaston Park Hotel

Hornton Grange combines a 1920s house with a skylit extension and gardens. Confirm the rooms included in your booking and a place for family groups if it rains. Bright extension light and darker period rooms call for a considered transition, especially around entrances and speeches.

Official venue information

Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Westbourne Road

The gardens offer a different setting from a city hotel, but venue hire and a professional portrait visit are not interchangeable. The venue team handles photoshoot-permit enquiries. Check access and permissions before planning a separate garden session, and leave an indoor option in your schedule.

Official venue information

Edgbaston Stadium, Banqueting Suite

The second-floor Banqueting Suite has pitch-facing windows and a private balcony, with lift access. Share the room layout and permitted portrait areas with us. We can plan for changing window light, but pitch access should never be assumed from a reception booking.

Plan the rooms, not just the postcode

Keep preparation and arrival realistic

If you are getting ready at home and marrying at a hotel, the ceremony time is not the car-arrival time. Include the final dressing, departure, unloading and a quiet moment before the entrance. A short distance through Edgbaston can still involve several separate arrivals.

Use the indoor setting well

A garden portrait is an option, not the only way to make beautiful photographs. Show us the indoor rooms you have booked, including any space available during reception setup. We can then plan portraits without relying on a last-minute empty room.

Separate religious and civil events clearly

For a Nikah, Anand Karaj, Hindu ceremony, church wedding or civil celebration, share the full sequence and any privacy requirements. The ceremony leader’s guidance comes first. Multi-day events, simultaneous preparations and film require their own coverage plan rather than a generic full-day label.

Combining a ceremony elsewhere with an Edgbaston reception?

Share both addresses and the Hornton Grange or Stadium room booking. We will discuss arrival, setup and portrait time before recommending hours.

Your ceremony and your families

Coverage that respects how you celebrate

An Edgbaston reception may follow a religious ceremony elsewhere in Birmingham. Share the ceremony leader’s guidance, family priorities and any photography or filming preferences. We can coordinate photography and film around a Nikah, Anand Karaj, Hindu ceremony, church service or civil wedding, with separate event dates and overlapping preparations included in the proposal.

For a Nikah or Anand Karaj before your Edgbaston reception, our Asian wedding guide gives more detail about ceremony coverage.

A clear starting point

Five hours of wedding photography, from £850

Ikonic Media wedding photography starts from £850 for five hours. Film, additional hours and multi-day celebrations are quoted separately.

The right coverage depends on the fixed ceremony time, preparations, reception and any transfers. We will explain what fits the starting coverage and quote additional services against your plans.

Compare photography and film coverage. A pre-wedding session is another option if you would like time in front of the camera before the wedding.

When you would like the voices and movement, too

Wedding film is available alongside photography by quotation. These films are examples from the wider Ikonic portfolio, not evidence of a commission at a venue on this page.

Answers before you enquire

Your Edgbaston wedding photography questions

How much does Ikonic Media charge for wedding photography in Edgbaston?

Ikonic Media wedding photography starts from £850 for five hours. Film, additional hours and multi-day celebrations are quoted separately. A day at Hornton Grange and a ceremony elsewhere before an Edgbaston reception need different timings; include each arrival in the coverage discussion.

Can we take wedding photographs at Birmingham Botanical Gardens?

Ask the gardens about access and any required photoshoot permission before confirming a separate portrait visit. If your reception is there, check which areas are included in your venue booking. Photography coverage does not itself provide permission to use private grounds.

How would you plan portraits at Hornton Grange?

We would start with your ceremony and reception rooms, then agree a short indoor and outdoor portrait plan. The skylit extension, period interiors and garden give different options, subject to the space and access confirmed by your coordinator.

Can we have photographs on the pitch at Edgbaston Stadium?

Only if the venue specifically approves that access. A booking for the Banqueting Suite or balcony should not be treated as permission to use the pitch. We can plan an alternative using the spaces actually included.

Can you cover an Edgbaston reception after a ceremony elsewhere?

Yes. Send both addresses and the planned journey. We allow for packing equipment, travel, parking and being ready before you arrive, and discuss extra team coverage if two important moments would overlap.

Can photography and film cover a religious ceremony before our Edgbaston hotel reception?

Yes. Send the religious ceremony address, its order of events and your Edgbaston reception rooms. We plan transfers and equipment access with both venues, and discuss an additional photographer if preparations overlap. Film is quoted separately; the £850 starting price covers five hours of photography.

What should we share about an Edgbaston Stadium Banqueting Suite reception?

Send the room layout, speech times and the entrance your suppliers should use. The Banqueting Suite is on the second floor, with lift access and a private balcony. Confirm the approved portrait areas with the venue so photography and film can be planned without assuming pitch access.

How do you handle changing light between Hornton Grange rooms?

We would plan around the period interiors, skylit extension and garden spaces actually reserved for your wedding. Tell us where the ceremony, speeches and portraits will happen. We can then prepare for the change in light and agree an indoor portrait space before the day.

Your next step

Tell us where in Edgbaston you are celebrating.

Send your date, the ceremony and reception addresses, and the parts of the day you would like photographed. We will check availability and talk through a written proposal.
