Portrait photographer · Birmingham & West Midlands
Not a different you.A photograph that feels like you.
You do not need to be a model. You do not need a milestone. You do not need to know what to do with your hands.
Start with why you want the photograph. A fresh profile. A personal moment. An outfit you love. We will talk through the look, setting and direction that make sense for you.
Ikonic Media Solutions · Based in Wednesbury, serving Birmingham and the West Midlands.

Start with the person, not the pose
You already have a personality.
Let’s make room for it.
Ikonic Media Solutions offers portrait photography in Birmingham and the West Midlands. Personal portraits, couple and bridal portraits, and photographs for professional profiles can be discussed around your brief. The setting, session length, final images and intended use are agreed before booking.
Some people want a bold image. Others want something quietly confident. Neither needs to look like somebody else’s idea of you.
For yourself
A personal portrait, a birthday or a new chapter. Bring a few references for the mood you like, and tell us what feels natural to you.
For your profile
Tell us where the image will appear: a professional profile, website or creative portfolio. Discuss background, crop, file sizes and usage rights as part of the brief.
For a shared moment
Couple and bridal portraits can celebrate a relationship or a special outfit. For a dedicated couple session, explore our engagement photography.
Look at the work
Light sets the mood.
Expression makes it yours.
The examples here are bridal portraits from our existing portfolio. They show different approaches to light and composition; they are not presented as corporate headshot commissions. Ask to see work relevant to your intended session.

A clear brief makes a better session
Four things to work out together.
What is the image for?
Personal keepsake, profile, portfolio or celebration. The purpose helps shape the photographs and delivery format.
Where will you feel comfortable?
Discuss a suitable indoor setting or outdoor location, with access, privacy, permissions and weather in mind.
What should it feel like?
Bring a few visual references and outfit ideas. Share what you like about them, rather than feeling you need to recreate a pose.
What will you receive?
Confirm session time, selected edits, retouching preferences, delivery date, usage rights and any printed products.
Know the people behind the camera. Meet Diven and the Ikonic team and explore the wider portfolio. We are based at 7 Vicarage Road, Wednesbury, WS10 9DW, serving Birmingham and the West Midlands.
For several generations or a session centred on children, see our family photography page.
Your brief, clearly quoted
Tell us what you need.
We will talk through the details.
Portrait sessions are quoted around the agreed brief. Share your preferred date, location, number of people, outfit ideas and how you plan to use the images.
Before booking, confirm the session time, image selection, editing, delivery, any venue or travel costs and the payment terms in writing.
Your first message can be simple.
“I need a portrait for…”
“I would like it to feel…”
“I am thinking of this date or location…”
No finished mood board required. A conversation is a good place to start.
Before you book
Portrait photography questions.
What types of portrait photography can we discuss?
Personal portraits, couple and bridal portraits, and photographs for professional profiles can be discussed with Ikonic. Tell us the intended use and style, and ask for relevant examples so we can confirm whether the proposed session is a good fit.
How much does portrait photography cost?
Ask for a quotation based on your brief. The session time, location, number of people, outfit changes, editing and usage requirements can affect the scope. Your written quotation confirms what is included before you book.
Do I need to know how to pose?
No. Tell us how comfortable you feel in front of a camera and what sort of direction you would find helpful. We can discuss the pace and approach before your session so you know what to expect.
What should I wear for a portrait session?
Choose clothes you feel comfortable and confident in, and consider where the photographs will be used. Bring outfit ideas to the planning conversation. If you want more than one look, agree the number of changes and time needed beforehand.
Can we use an indoor or outdoor location?
Both can be discussed. The location needs to suit the brief, light, access and privacy requirements. Confirm venue permission, any hire or entry charges and an outdoor weather plan before booking.
Can I use the photographs for work or my website?
Tell us about professional or commercial use before booking. Confirm the usage licence, image formats, crops and resolution you need. Personal printing rights and commercial usage are not automatically the same.
How much retouching is included?
Discuss your preferences and the agreed level of editing before the session. Tell us if you want particular features retained or have concerns about retouching. The quotation should confirm what is included and any additional editing charges.
When will I receive my portraits, and can they stay private?
Agree the selection process and expected delivery date in your booking terms. Also discuss gallery access and any permission for portfolio or social-media use. Make privacy preferences clear before booking.
